Jailers beat up ex-Jharkhand CM for hunger strike call

Just in: Former Jharkhand CM Madhu Koda was allegedly beaten up by jail authorities after he went on hunger strike demanding better food in jail. He has been admitted to a hospital in Ranchi. Koda has been in jail since November 2009 in a Rs 4000 crore money laundering scam. The same month, income tax and Enforcement Directorate officials raided 69 places in the country on complaints that he possessed assets disproportionate to his income and arrested him.
