Sachin fined Rs 4.35 lakh for staying in new home without OC

Mumbai civic authorities have slapped a hefty fine on iconic cricketer Sachin Tendulkar for his new home in the city. The cricketer paid the BMC Rs 4.35 lakh for staying in his four-storeyed bungalow in Mumbai's suburb Bandra, before he received the Occupancy Certificate from the BMC.

Chief Engineer (Development Plan) R Kukanur, said, "He will be penalised Rs 4.75 lakh for inhabiting a house before getting the OC. It was due in procedure and he would have got the OC in the next four days."

In fact, the BMC warning had come on the day of the bhoomi puja.
