Maharashtra renames its 'Unwanted' girls

Around 200 girls in Maharashtra will have a new name Friday: They will no longer be called "unwanted. A field survey in Satara district, which also happens to be Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan's home town, has revealed that 222 girls under the age of 18 years, were named "Nakusa,' a Marathi word which translates to "unwanted' in English.
