October 17, 2011  12:52

Ajay Maken, Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports has unveiled the revised draft National Sports Development Bill , 2011 today. Here are the details.

Basically, the revised national sports bill exempts cricketers from some World Anti-Doping Agency rules, including the whereabouts clause, in view of BCCI's objections.

The new draft of the proposed national sports legislation continues to swear by the age and tenure caps imposed on office-bearers of national sports federations and national Olympic committees, but has done away with the ombudsman and the National Sports Development Council.
