Rs 32/day povery line cap may be removed

Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and rural development minister Jairam Ramesh have reached an agreement over the Rs 32 per day cap defining the poverty line, with indications that the cap may be removed. There will now be different indicators for different categories. Details awaited.
