These are the transcripts carried by the Times, London:

Yes, hello. My name is Anders Behring Breivik of the Norwegian anti-communist resistance movement, he says in a tone that betrays no panic or anger. I am on Utya at the moment and I wish to surrender.

The only emotion comes from the operator, who sounds surprised and unsure what to do. OK, he says, adding after a long pause: What number are you calling from?

Breivik: I am calling from a mobile.

Operator: Youre calling from your mobile.

Breivik: Its not my mobile. Its another one.

Operator: What was your name again? Hello? Hello?

But by then the line had gone dead, and the killer resumed the shooting.
