Ramdev responsible for violence at Ramlila: Delhi police

Just in: The Delhi Police today refused to take responsibility for the violence at the Ramlila Maidan during Baba Ramdev's fast and blamed the yoga guru during a hearing at the Supreme Court.

The Delhi Police has told the SC that Ramdev was responsible for the violence at the Ramlila Maidan in June. The crisis was created by the yoga guru's "irresponsible behaviour" and the Delhi Police was not to blame, the court was informed today.

The Supreme Court is hearing a suo motu petition on the alleged police violence at Baba Ramdev's anti-corruption gathering on June 4. "He has to take responsibility," Delhi Police counsel Harish Salve told the court. -- NDTV report.
