PM, Sonia to visit Manipur next week

Rediff.com has learned that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be visiting Manipur in early December. The state has seen over three months of economic blockades by tribal groups who are divided over the issue of a creation of a new district in the northeastern state.

Meanwhile, it is reported that MPP Youth Front has chalked out a plan to embarrass the Prime Minister during his visit to Imphal in case the Government of India refuses to retract its offer for a Supra State body and get the ongoing economic blockade lifted.
