Press Council receives 30 complaints on paid news

The Press Council has received 30 complaints of Paid News against newspapers in the country since 2009. A majority of the cases have been closed for "non pursuance" by complainants. Some of the complaints have been reported as "matter ripe for listing before the Inquiry Committee of the Council" while in some cases show cause notices have been issued.
