Jayasuriya's ODI swansong ends in whimper

Once not too long ago, he, along with Kaluwitharana, was considered one of the most explosive one-day batsmen.
On Tuesday, Sanath Jayasuriya bid farewell to the game that had made him a household name, in a fashion that would not warm the cockles of his fans' hearts.
Playing the first ODI against England, Jayasuriya, who will turn 42 tomorrow, scored just two runs. As a consolation, perhaps, he also took a wicket.
Surely, this is not how he would have wanted to bow out of international cricket?
