Diesel, kerosene prices down, LPG stays
June 29, 2011  16:51

In a bid to provide relief to consumers hit by recent fuel price hike, the Maharashtra government today decided to reduce VAT on diesel and kerosene by two per cent.

Following the decision, diesel prices in Maharashtra are expected to reduce by 72 paise per litre and those of kerosene by 28 paise.

However, there will be no reduction in prices of LPG in Maharashtra as the state government does not levy VAT on cooking gas, said Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.
