SC to Kani: No bail, approach trial court

A special bench comprising of justices GS Singhvi and BS Chauhan was set up after two judges hearing the case recused themselves on Friday.

The CBI, which is probing the case, opposed Kanimozhi and Sharad Kumar's petitions on the grounds that if released, they would try to tamper with evidence and influence witnesses.

Kanimozhi (43), who is the daughter of DMK chief M Karunanidhi, has been in jail for over a month now. She moved the apex court after both the trial court and the Delhi High court denied her bail.
