On tonight: The darkest lunar eclipse in almost 100 years, as the centres of the sun, the earth and the moon will nearly be on one straight line,

The total lunar eclipse will begin at 00:52:30 IST and end at 02:32:42 IST. While the partial eclipse will begin at 23:52:56 IST and end at 03:32:15 IST. The time of the maximum eclipse is one hour, forty-two minutes, and twenty-four seconds.

The darkest lunar eclipse was last seen on August 6, 1971 and the next one will be seen on June 6, 2058.
