Why BJP legislative meeting has been put off

The reason the meeting has been postponed is is that 20 BJP MLAs are out of town and the meeting can only be held once they get back. Since it is a leadership change, they want a full strength.

However, for Jaitley and Singh it does not mean it's a day of rest. They will be involved in many meetings today to discuss developments and also listen to the grievances of a few who want Yeddyurappa to stay on.
