Suicide bomber kills Kandahar mayor

The mayor of the Kandahar, Ghulam Haidar Hameedi, has been killed in a suicide attack, reports the bbc. The attacker detonated explosives in his turban as the mayor made an address in courtyard of the city hall. This month has seen the killing of two other high-profile Afghan leaders.
