PM accepts Gurudas Kamat's resignation

Just in: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has accepted Gurudas Kamat's resignation. Yesterday, Kamat refused to attend the swearing-in ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in a show of defiance over his transfer in the reshuffle to the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.

Kamat's grouse was over two things - he considered the portfolio too low-key for him and he wanted to a ministerial berth.
