Why Anna may not get nod for holding fast at Azad Maidan

In Mumbai, N P Mote, the deputy director, Sports has said that the members of India Against Corruption IAC had approached them demanding the sports field at Azad Maidan to be given for Anna's ptotest.

Speaking to rediff.com's Toral Varia, Mote said the permission has been denied as a High Court ruling says that the sports grounds cannot be used for rallies and protests. "There are about 22 cricket pitches at Azad Maidan. Tournaments are also to be held between 27 and 30 December," said Mote.
