On Twitter:  Kanchan Gupta: Today is 40th anniversary of massacre of intellectuals by razakars across Bangladesh. Two days before fall of Dhaka.

Jamaati razakars rounded up everybody they could, slaughtered them. Hands were tied. Most had throats slit. Rest shot. Facing imminent defeat, Pakistani Army instructed Jamaati collaborators to kill students, teachers, lawyers, doctors, journalists.

It's important to remember 1971. Pakistan Army killed Jinnah's moth-eaten dream that year. Since then what remains has turned into nightmare.
