Cong: Problem of black money handed over as legacy

Congress response to LK Advani's black money debate begins.

Manish Tiwari says he agrees with Advani that a shadow economy is corrupting the nation, but quibbles over words. Says it's wrong to call countries like Switzerland, tax heavens, they are sovereign nations. And tax havens are not a new phenomenon.

He says there is a parallel economy in black money worth Rs 1 trillion in India. Every third dollar invested is routed through some tax haven. The problem of black money has been handed over as a legacy. It is therefore wrong to say that the Congress is responsible for black money.
