After the deluge of rumours yesterday that a coup was imminent in Pakistan after president Asif Ali Zardari suddenly fell ill and had a 'minor heart attack' and had to be hospitalised in Dubai, the US and the Pak government have rubbished the rumours.

The US today wished Zardari well and dismissed rumors that the civilian leader was being pushed out. "We have seen the reports. We certainly wish him a speedy recovery,' said White House spokesman Jay Carney.
