2G scam: IOA Acting President V K Malhotra today hit back at Sports Minister Ajay Maken for contending that the Host City Contract had left the government with no option but to make Suresh Kalmadi the OC chairman, saying that by the same yardstick it could not have the power to sack him.
Maken told the Lok Sabha yesterday that the Host City Contract signed by the NDA regime had stipulated that the organisation of the CWG be entrusted to the IOA and the UPA government could do nothing regarding the appointment of Kalmadi as OC chief.
