Gowda wins by eight votes

Gowda is Vokkalinga by caste. He is a two-time MP and MLA, but has never been a minister. He is a RSS man and has always been a Yeddyurappa loyalist and has been a Karnataka BJP party president from 2007 to 2010. Gowda won the ballot by 8 votes (63 against Jagdish Shettar's 55 votes).
