Arvind Mills clocks Rs 46.2 million net profit

Email this report to a friend

Arvind Mills Limited has reported Rs 46.2 million net profit for the third quarter of 1998-99. The sales stood at Rs 2.21 billion and exports were Rs 2.94 billion.

The denim market worldwide and in India has been under pressure. While volumes have been maintained, the realisations have gone down. Cotton prices continued to remain high during the fiscal.

Arvind has already initiated plans to overcome the effects of the prevailing downtrend in basic denim by focussing on new product development like stretch, over-dyeds, black-on-black and ring denim, the company said in a statement.
