From now on farmers in India can be the proud owners of credit cards.

State Bank of Indore will launch a farmer credit card on January 11 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, in order to provide special facility to farmers.

A media release from the bank said the farmer credit card would be given to those whose need for the agriculture production and crop loans was more than Rs 5,000.

The card-holder would be given a pass-book in which all the transactions related to loan would be maintained.

The card would be valid for three years. However, the requirement of the farmers will be revised annually to determine new loan limit.
