India only for Ram bhakts: Karnataka BJP chief
February 15, 2023

Karnataka BJP president Nalinkumar Kateel's rant against 'Tipu Sultan's descendants' (Muslims).
"We're devotees of Lord Ram & Hanuman. We're not Tipu's descendants, we sent his descendants back. So I ask the people of Yelaburga, do you worship Hanuman or sing Tipu's bhajans? Will you chase away people who sing Tipu's bhajans?

"So, think if this state requires Tipu's descendants or Lord Ram's and Hanuman's devotees? I challenge on the land of Hanuman -- people who love Tipu should not stay here, people who sing Lord Ram's bhajans and celebrate Lord Hanuman should stay here."

Kateel had sparked a new controversy earlier after asking his party workers not to talk about small issues like roads and sewage but raise bigger issues like love jihad.

Karnataka is due for an assembly election around April-May this year, and the poll-bound state has witnessed increasing instances of moral policing and communal clashes, specifically in the Dakshina Kannada region.
