Why journalist Siddique Kappan is still in jail

Siddique Kappan has been in jail for 747 days since he was arrested by the UP police on 5 October 2020, and 40 days after he was granted bail by the Supreme Court on 9 September 2022.
This is because the Enforcement Directorate added him to an older money laundering case dating back to 2018, linked to a 2013 case, neither of which he has any connection with. His co-accused and "main conspirator" in the present case has already been granted bail by a court in Kerala.
