Anil Dharker, writer, editor, and founder of Tata Literature Live and the Mumbai International Literature Festival, is dead. He had been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai for a heart ailment and is said to have died there.
A writer and editor, Dharkar was the founder of the popular Mumbai International Literature Festival. He was associated with publications like The Illustrated Weekly of India, The Independent and Mid-Day.
Among his books are The Romance of Salt, Invisible Goodness: The Story of Tata Power, and Icons: Men & Women Who Shaped Today's India.
Author Shobhaa De summed it up best when she tweeted: 'Goodbye dearest Anil. An elegant mind, a stylish writer, and a loyal friend. You will be missed by all those whose lives you touched. RIP.'
