Cong committee to visit Assam-Mizoram border

The Congress party has constituted a 7-member committee 'to visit Cachar and any other area to assess the Assam-Mizoram border dispute on the ground and the ensuing violence'.

Assam Congress chief Bhupen Bora to lead the committee.

Deputy Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, Gaurav Gogoi said some media reports say LMG was used (during the Assam-Mizoram border clash yesterday). "Are we in our country or on the borders of the country? We demand an enquiry into this incident," Gogoi said. 

Paying his condolences to those who lost their lives in the recent Assam-Mizoram clashes, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday accused the Centre of sowing hatred and distrust into the lives of people, terming the clashes its 'dreadful consequences.'

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today laid wreaths and paid tribute to the policemen who lost their lives in the Assam-Mizoram border clash yesterday, in Silchar.
