Uddhav asks PM to lower age for vaccine to 25 yrs

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to further lower the age group eligible for vaccination to 25years old to curb the intensity of the rising cases in the state. 

Mumbai on Monday reported 9,857 novel coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, a small dip in cases from Sunday where it recorded 11,163 cases. 

The total tally of infections in the financial capital of India rose to 4,62,302, the city civic body said. 

Amid an unprecedented surge in coronavirus cases across the state, the Maharashtra government has announced new restrictions including a night curfew in the state and a "strict lockdown" over the weekends from Friday 8 pm to Monday 7 am.
