With the state of Maine falling to the Democrats, Joe Biden inched ahead in the race towards US presidency, with 227 electoral college votes against incumbent President Donald Trump's 213.

Biden is also leading Trump in Michigan and Wisconsin, while the latter leads in Pennsylvania.
