Drug Controller General of India has given approval for clinical trials of Favipiravir which is used in influenza in Japan, China etc and can be potentially used against Covid-19. Approval has also been given for a phytopharmaceutical, which is an extract of a plant, says CSIR Director General Shekhar Mande.
