September 22, 2019

United States President Donald Trump arrives at the NRG stadium in Houston for the Howdy Modi event.

He was welcomed to the stadium by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

The POTUS was scheduled to arrive at 9:20 pm (IST). However, he  made a surprise to the coast guard to get briefing about the flood situation in Houston, which claimed five lives.

In a televised address he said the Prime Minister Modi is a highly respected man. "Indian loves me and that is why I am here. I have a lot of respect and great friendship with the Prime Minister," Trump said.

Organised by the non-profit Texas India Forum, the Howdy Modi event in Houston, with the tagline 'Shared Dreams, Bright Futures', will shine light on the tremendous contribution of Indo-Americans in United States and the strong and lasting partnership between the US and India.
