Journalist Prashant Kanojia, who was arrested for allegedly "defaming" Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on socila media sites, has been released from Lucknow jail.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court ordered his immediate release, saying the fundamental right to liberty is non-negotiable. 

He was allowed to go after giving two sureties of Rs. 20,000 each and a personal bond for the same amount.
