Verdicts from Justices DY Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra still pending, but with the CJI, Justice Khanwilkar and Justice Nariman concurring that Section  497 (Adultery) of the IPC is unconstitutional, retrograde and arbitrary, the Supreme Court bench has stuck down the archaic 1860 colonial law.
