Yeddyurappa promises farm loan waivers in 1st presser as CM
May 17, 2018

Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa's first press briefing after being sworn in.

"I express my gratitude to the people of the state. I'm 100% confident I will succeed in this mission.  The Congress and JD(S) have done an immoral coalition. But people's support is in my favour, my party's favour. As per my promise I am waiving off farm loans. We are confident we have the people's mandate. I am 101% confident we can prove our majority," Yeddyurappa said.

Yeddyurappa was on Thursday sworn in as the chief minister of Karnataka for a second time, after an overnight high-voltage legal battle in the Supreme Court.

The 75-year-old Lingayat strongman was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Vajubhai Vala at a ceremony at Raj Bhavan amid loud cheering by his supporters.
