Exit poll gives Putin overwhelming win

An exit poll has predicted that Vladimir Putin will win the Russian presidential election securing 73.9 per cent of the vote and bag a fourth term in office. 

The State-owned pollster VTsIOM put the Communist candidate Pavel Grudinin at second place with 11.2 pc of the vote. The Liberal Democratic Party head Vladimir Zhirinovsky secured 6.7 pc of the vote while Ksenia Sobchak, a socialite with family ties to Putin, got 2.5 of the vote, the voting projection by VTsIOM shows.
