40 killed in blast near embassies and govt buildings in Kabul

UPDATE: At least 40 people were killed and 140 injured when a bomb hidden in an ambulance was detonated at a police checkpoint in Kabul on Saturday.
The incident occurred close to the gate of the old Ministry of Interior building in the city.
There are foreign embassies and other government buildings also in the area.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the blast.
This is their second big attack in a week, after the attack on Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul in which 22 people were killed. -- Agencies
