UPDATE: Deporting Rohingyas not an issue, Myanmar will accept them: Rajnath
September 21, 2017

Amidst the discussion on Rohingyas and their status in India, Home Minister Rajnath Singh has clearly said that they aren't refugees, nor have they taken asylum. "Rohingyas are not refugees, nor have they taken asylum. They are illegal immigrants," said the home minister, adding that he failed to understand why some people were objecting to the deportation of Rohingyas when Myanmar was ready to accept them.

On Tuesday, Myanmar's Aung San Suu Kyi in a televised address had said that the state was ready to start a refugee verification process for those who wished to return.

On Wednesday, Trump said he wanted the United Nations Security Council to take "strong and swift action" to end violence against Myanmar's Rohingya Muslims.
