With two more deaths, the toll in the explosion at the state-run power giant National Thermal Power Corporation's Unchahar plant in Rae Bareli district has gone up to 22.

Rae Bareli DM Sanjay Kumar said, "There have been 22 causalities till now and 66 people are injured. Rescue operations by NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) are underway."

"We've constituted team of magistrate and a technical officer, which will conduct a magisterial inquiry into the incident," the DM said.

A massive explosion ripped a boiler at the NTPC plant on Wednesday. -- ANI
