Sidhu touches Capt Amarinder's feet after taking oath as minister

At the swearing-in ceremony of the Punjab cabinet, after Captain Amarinder Singh was sworn in as the CM, a little drama.


Navjot Singh Sidhu, 53, who was the second person to be sworn in, touched Captain's feet in a show of respect. Sidhu, who had dithered between the AAP and the Congress, is a prize catch for the party. Reports indicate that while Sidhu expects compensation in the form of the deputy CM's post, it may not come his way.

Soon after the oath ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "Congratulations @capt_amarinder on taking oath as CM. Wishing you the very best in working for Punjab's development.
