Irom Sharmila gets just 51 votes
March 11, 2017

Clearly, activism is one thing, politics quite another.

In Manipur, aspiring chief minister and rights activist Irom Sharmila got just 51 votes. She contested from the Thoubal constituency against three time CM Okram Ibobi Singh. Sharmila said yesterday that muscle,  money power is being openly used by parties. "Not affected much by result, people yet to change, everybody knows muscle & money power were openly used," she said.
