Rajiv Mehrishi appointed Comptroller and Auditor General of India

Former home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi has been appointed Comptroller and Auditor General of India. The appointment comes after Mehrishi stepped down as the Union Home Secretary. 

The government also announced that former bureaucrat Sunil Arora was
the new election commissioner. After Nasim Zaidi retired as Chief Election Commissioner in July, there was a vacancy in the poll panel.

Arora, 61, had been the Information and Broadcasting
Secretary, and Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development
and Entrepreneurship.
