Patnaik announces ex gratia for victims from Odisha

Expressing deep condolences at the loss of lives in the derailment of several coaches of the Puri-Haridwar-Kalinga Utkal Express which took place near Khatauli railway station in Muzaffarnagar, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the next kin of any passengers from state killed in the accident.

He also announced relief of Rs 50,000 for injured.

Patnaik has further directed Commerce and Transport Department to work in coordination with the Indian Railway and the Uttar Pradesh government to help the injured and victims. -- ANI
