Tamil Nadu CM appeals people to wear khadi once a week
August 06, 2017
In a bid to promote handloom products, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami today exhorted the public to wear khadi dresses once a week.

Tamil Nadu has about 3.20 weavers and nearly 1.29 lakh families depend on the textile and handloom sectors, Palaniswami said.

In 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the first National Handloom Day in Tamil Nadu in the presence of the late AIADMK Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and former Governor K Rosaiah.
