Navjot Singh Sidhu and his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu have formally resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party membership.

Former BJP MP Sidhu has already floated a new non-political front Awaaz-E-Punjab.

His wife Navjot Kaur, a BJP MLA and former minister in the Punjab government also quit her membership saying she was not allowed to work in her constituency.

"I am an individual; I have only picked up issues of my zone which I was not being allowed to do. This isn't democracy, this is dictatorship. If I raise social issues, how is it anti-party activity?" Navjot Kaur Sidhu said after quitting the party.
