October 29, 2016

Samajwadi Party MP Munabbar Saleem's personal assistant who was detained on Friday night in Pakistan espionage case, was arrested today.

Farhat was detained on Friday night, said a senior crime branch officer.

Meanwhile, Saleem said that he will cooperate with the police in the case.

"I had appointed the PA a year back after due parliamentary checks. I am ready to extend all support during probe," said Saleem.

On Thursday, in the midst of heightened Indo-Pak tensions, Pakistan high commission staffer Mehmood Akhtar was detained by police for accessing sensitive defence documents while running a spy ring for Inter Service Intelligence, and was immediately declared persona non grata.
