No trilateral meet between Modi, Xi and Prachanda: MEA
October 16, 2016

There was no trilateral meet between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', the Ministry of External Affairs said, countering a report published in a Nepali newspaper.

The Himalayan Times had reported, along with a photo of the meeting, that Prachanda held a trilateral meeting with Modi and Xi on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Goa and pitched Nepal as a 'dynamic bridge' between the two Asian giants.

"It was only a coincidence that all three leaders were present at the same time at leaders lounge," MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup said.
