By 2018, Ganga will be among 10 cleanest rivers: Uma Bharti's vow @ Modi event

After the Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao campaign, Ministers Uma Bharati, Chaudhary Birender Singh and others on stage now to talk about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan - the government's cleanliness and sanitation drive. 

The government has exceeded its targets in building toilets, says minister Chaudhary Birender Singh. "Our mission is to end open-defecation completely," he says.

Minister Uma Bharti speaks about the efforts to clean the Ganga River. "Previous governments spent the money in an unplanned way. We have a clear, phased approach to clean the Ganga," she says.

"Today Ganga is among the 10 most dirtiest rivers in the world. By 2018, it will be among the ten cleanest rivers," she promises.
