The comments GL Batra, father of slain Indian Army captain Vikram Batra, came in the backdrop of a controversy surrounding the March 19 tie between the two rivals during the ICC World Twenty20 tournament. The match will be held in Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh.

"It is my personal opinion that matches with Pakistan shouldn't take place anywhere in India. They are waging a proxy war in Kashmir. Recently, the Pathankot attack took place. We shouldn't be so humble. But is it humbleness or weakness?" Batra said. 

Captain Vikram Batra was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously for his gallantry during the 1999 Kargil war.
