Mukhtar Ahmad reports: An army trooper has been wounded in an ongoing encounter in the Machil sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district.

A senior police officer said the gunfight started on Tuesday morning.

"The encounter is on. An army trooper, who was injured in the initial firing exchange,  was shifted to hospital for treatment," the officer said details awaited.
